We asked teachers what they really wanted as gifts, and here is what they said:
Insulated Tumbler:
Teachers talk a lot! They get very thirsty, and love a nice cold cup of water. Cute mugs don’t quite do the trick because they don’t keep drinks cold. But, these awesome tumblers keep drinks cold or hot all day long. You child’s teacher will use this every single day.
Books:
Teachers love to promote literacy, and books are a great way to do that. Giving a teacher a children’s book is a gift to them, and to the students. If you would rather get them a book just for them, they will love that too. Books to consider would be Don’t let the pigeon stay up late, orĀ Wonder.
Laminator:
Teachers would prefer to have everything laminated, but with schools setting limits of how much they can use the laminator, teachers are limited. If you got a teacher their very own laminator, they would be ecstatic. If they already have a laminator, laminator sheets are a great alternative.
Clorox Wipes:
We’re not saying your kids bring germs to class and spread them on nearly everything, but if that were the case, think of how great some Clorox wipes would be to have on hand. Help teachers in their efforts to prevent sickness from spreading.
Lanyard:
Most teachers wear a name badge at work every day. The ones provided by the school are often inadequate, or plain ugly. Give your child’s teacher a lanyard that they will enjoy using daily.
Sticky Notes:
With so many kids, and so many thins going on, sticky notes are always appreciated.
Clock:
You’re probably thinking that every classroom you’ve ever been to already has a clock. But, have you ever noticed that the clock is usually at the front of the classroom? This is a problem for two reasons:
- Teachers are usually teaching with their backs to the clock so they can see their students, but not the clock
- When teachers pull down the projector screen, it usually covers the clock entirely. Having an extra clock that the teacher could put in the back of the room would be so amazing.
Markers:
Teachers usually pay for these out of pocket. They don’t last the whole year, so Christmas and Valentines day are the perfect time to replenish the teachers supply of Sharpies and Expo markers.
Tote Bag:
Teachers tote a lot of things back and forth from their house to the school. Having a nice tote bag can make a world of difference.
