If the reason goes beyond that and you need one because your onboard webcam is inadequate, or you don’t have one at all, it makes sense to pay more money for the nicer camera(s). However, if the intent is to satisfy requirements only because they want an external webcam to capture elevated angles, it’s really hard to argue that the webcam 1000 wouldn’t meet specifications and be ideal. Especially since it was prescribed by the university.

It’s really easy to treat this purchase like we purchase a phone or a laptop, but keep in mind that if you aren’t going to use it after proctoring, it doesn’t make sense to buy the other two. Just some food for thought…
